Upcoming meetings
The Controlled Release Society (CRS) is an international organization which serves 3,000 members from more than 50 countries, with the common scientific interest of improving the delivery of bioactive compounds. This encompasses the fields of medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical biology, drug delivery, nanomaterials and classical pharmaceutical science. The recently formed Australian Chapter of CRS will hold its 4th Annual Meeting in Melbourne hosted by the Monash Institue of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) on Thursday and Friday 25th and 26th November 2010.
Prof. Diane Burgess (U. Connecticut, CRS Immediate Past President) and Prof. Nissim Garti (Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel) are international invited speakers. There will be two $1000 travel bursaries for student poster winners on offer, and contributed talks and posters through submission of abstracts.

In addition, the 3rd Australian/New Zealand Combined CRS Workshops will be held at MIPS on 29th and 30th November. These educational workshops are this year themed under the title “In vitro drug release and dissolution testing“ and are FREE for students to attend. Diane Burgess is an internationally recognised expert in dissolution technologies and together with Diane, a panel of Australian and New Zealand-based pharmaceutical scientists will cover different aspects of this topic. A strong industry turnout is also expected.
